Pitru Paksha 2023: In the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, Pitru Paksha, observed, which is a 16-day period dedicated to the remembrance of ancestors, paying homage to departed souls, and ensuring their peace and satisfaction in order to receive blessings by family members.
Several rituals are performed during this period and one of them is 'Shraadh', which involves offerings to the deceased souls. Ancestors are offered food, water, milk, and sesame seeds, symbolizing love, respect, and indebtedness to them.
