Soldiers are those assets of the nation that fight for and die for the people whom they haven't even met all their lives. Married to the services and the nation, they go about their duties, and the unwritten deal they struck with their destiny.

Whether they get credit or not for their efforts, they do their duty with unflinching selflessness.
Personal emotions, submerged in the sea of patriotic fervour, they start their day with single-minded focus on protecting the borders.

A soldier is a fighter all the way, through the tough terrains as well as the battles of his own life.
The only person who treats death as his friend, is our solider at the border.

Do you know about this soldier who died fighting for the country, but was so obsessed with his job that even after death he is protecting the borders and one can sense his movements in this area.

He was Harbhajan Singh, a brave Sikh soldier who served as a sepoy of the Punjab regiment, who fought bravely in the Indo China war of 1962 and laid his life.

There are surprising tales around him that have become the talk of the town. When even after three days of his disappearance, the army was unable to locate his body or know his whereabouts, it was his soul that appeared in the dream of his colleague and directed him to the area where his body was lying frozen in a glacier at an altitude of 13,123 feet between Nathu La and Jelepla Pass.

His body was later cremated with military honours. A few days later he appeared again in a jawan's dream and asked him to get a temple built for him near his samadhi on the hill, which was done as per instructions.

At this high altitude, he protects every soldier who enters that terrain in the eastern Himalayas. His movements are felt and experienced even today by the soldiers.

He is still supposed to protect the area around that place. As a part of the operations of the Dogra Regiment during the war between China and India, Baba Harbhajan Singh fought his way to death near Nathu La Pass while on duty.

At the camp of Nathu La pass, the soldiers follow an unusual practice of keeping his army uniform washed and ironed and his shoes polished.

When they visit this place the next morning, the shoes would be soiled and muddy and his uniform crumpled. Three days before any skirmish between china and india. Baba Harbhajan drops hints to the Indian army. At flag meetings, even the Chinese soldiers place an empty chair for Baba to come and sit there.

The army is so thoughtful and in response to his services, it sends a small sum of money to Harbhajans mother as salary. Harbhajans two month leave every year, is even now extended to him as a practice. During vacation, the army books a seat for him in the train and sends him back to his mother in his hometown.

These incidents have stunned every passers-by and interested listeners, but to some it looks like coincidence, to others it may be just an illusion of the mind, and to some others, it looks like a story from ancient fables come true.
