So anything causing tension and stress is avoided for them during this period. Women who are carrying are advised to chant some mantras, especially garbharaksha mantras, which have gained popularity of late.

You can see several CDs released for the same purpose. The mantras hold their own power and sway over the unborn kid, and when the mother chants these, the vibrations will surely be felt by the unborn baby.

Sometimes women chant the Bhagavad Gita verses so that the child born, they expect, will have at least some qualities of Krishna.

Now this idea has been mooted by none other than the Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan who said that Pregnant women should recite 'Sunderkand' and Ramayana so that the baby would be born mentally and physically strong like Lord Shri Rama.

Soundara rajan, a gynecologist and fetal therapist by occupation, had these words of advice to Pregnant women during the launch of the Garbha Sanskar programme of an RSS affiliated organization,

The Samvardhini Nyas is a wing of Rashtra Sevika Sangh, under whose " Garbha Sanskar" Programme it provides both scientific and traditional suggestions through their doctors which will help the expectant mother to give birth to a child that is born with sanskari and patriotic instincts.

To inculcate these characters in the unborn, the sangh recommends reading of religious texts, mantras, practice of yoga as a process that must continue till the baby turns two years of age.

Garbha Sanskar is a programme that intends to guide all the expectant mothers when it is officially launched.

During the virtual launch, Soundara rajan was full of appreciation towards the way this organization was implementing its programme module that hinted at a positive outcome due to the organization's scientific and holistic approach towards the concept of Garbh Sanskar.

Tamil Nadu is a state that is steeped in religion and culture which is a part of their lives. Even small children are culturally aware and intelligent.

In villages of Tamil Nadu, we see expectant mothers reading epics like Ramayana as well as moral stories. Tamil people strongly believe in the efficacy of Sundarkandam of Kamba Ramayana.

Sundarakand is the most important part of Ramayana that describes the heroic exploits of Hanuman and his immaculate virtues and devotion to Lord Rama.

Soundar rajan who is also a Lieutenant Governor for Puducherry, says that both scientific and holistic approach towards pregnancy are the need of the hour.

While the scientific approach ensures safe pregnancy without complications, the holistic approach helps the woman to have healthwise, sound babies.

A gentle yoga practice during pregnancy will protect the physical and mental wellbeing of the expectant mother and the unborn baby and help in normal delivery, she said, highlighting the significance of motherhood and the importance of the 'Garbha Sanskar'.

Leena Gahane, co-head of the Samiti, who addressed the event, extolled the benefits of the Garbha Sanskar module on the day of 350th death anniversary of Jijabai and quipped that garbh sanskar programme attended in this year will result in babies with qualities of Shivaji Maharaj.

Jijabai was the mother of Shivaji who was solely instrumental in making him a star on the patriotic horizon.

Doctors associated with this samiti will take on the 'Garbha Sanskar' programme and conduct it to enable women to be proud mothers of heroic and principled children.

Entire country has been categorized under 5 compartments with ten doctors appointed in each region to run the initiative successfully.

Each doctor will be given 20 cases to handle so as to procure the best results. A central team has been appointed to supervise this programme to ensure successful implementation.
