Pitru Paksha 2023: Top 11 Places For Pind Daan: Pitru Paksha is also known as Mahalaya Paksha and it is considered a 16-day period in the Hindu lunar calendar to honor and pay homage to the ancestors. There are many rituals that family members perform in order to please their ancestors, however, one of the important rituals for a departed soul is Pind Daan.
Pind Daan is one of the essential rituals during this time, where offerings of food, water, and other items are made to satisfy the departed souls. This year Pitru Paksha will begin on 29 September and end on 14 October 2023. There are several important places in India where Pind Daan is traditionally performed during Pitru Paksha. River

Banyan
tree
present
here

is
known
as
Siddhavat
and
it
is
believed
to
be
planted
by
Goddess
Parvati
herself.

offer
tarpan
at
Siddhavat,
Gaya
Kotha,
and
Ramghat
in
Ujjain.
