Pitru Paksha 2023: Can You Visit Temple During Pitru Paksha Shradh Or Perform Puja At Home?
Pitru Paksha 2023: This is also known as Shraadh or Mahalaya Paksha and is a 16-day lunar cycle according to the Hindu Calendar. There is a belief that the doors of the ancestral world open and the ancestors become free to meet their relatives. During these sixteen days, Shraddha, Tarpan, and Pind Daan are performed to please the ancestors.
This period is dedicated to honoring and paying respects to one's deceased ancestors or pitrus (forefathers). It typically falls in the Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada, which corresponds to September-October in the Gregorian calendar. There are several reasons and beliefs behind observing Pitru Paksha.

Auspicious work is prohibited during this phase and therefore, it can raise curiosity in many whether one can visit temples or perform any puja at home or not. Read through the post to know about this.
