One of the most important persons who have a hand in shaping our lives after our parents is our teacher. Our teacher or Guru is the person who leads us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. Hence, they play a major role in shaping us the way we are. Guru Purnima falls on the fifteenth day of the bright fortnight, the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashadha. This year it will be observed on 24 July. The Purnima Tithi begins at 10:43 AM on Jul 23, 2021, and Purnima Tithi ends at 08:06 AM on Jul 24, 2021.
Guru Purnima is a day in the Hindu calendar that is dedicated to our spiritual and academic teachers. In Hinduism, Guru or a teacher is equated with God.
