8 Powerful Mantras That Effectively Combat Insomnia Or Sleeplessness
Everyone, sometime or the other, would have felt the negative impact of the daily grind on their sleep, but here are some mantras that will let you effectively fall asleep.

Is the daily grind affecting your sleep? Scriptures say that day time belongs to the devas and the night times to the asuras and ghosts. Equally prevalent is the belief that getting up instinctively at 3 or 3.30 pm indicates that there is some guardian angel up there that is guarding you and it is a time when gods will be moving around everywhere.
Any spiritual activity done at this time succeeds very well. People who are habituated to getting up at 3 am are believed to possess spiritual aura or strength and have gods' protection on them.
Night time otherwise, is exactly when you also get nightmares. A great influx of negative energies at night can attack a sleeping person. You must have heard and experienced this.
Before sleep tell yourself that you are going to get up at 5.30 etc.. certainly, you will wake up at 5.30 instinctively probably due to a subconscious act that stores it in your memory.
Similarly chanting of mantras just before sleeping, is an invitation for good energies to take care of you during sleep and hence whenever you have chanted Hanuman mantra on one day, you must have noticed that your nightmares haven't bothered you throughout.
Good energies also protect you during the night if you offer your prayers to them before going to sleep. There is yet another belief that getting up at 3 exactly and then looking at the night sky from your window, and telling your desires to the universe, your prayers will actually be answered. A marathi abhang: 'हेचि दान देगा देवा । तुझा विसर न व्हावा ।।' Sing this Abhang Which is in Marathi. It works like a lullaby and puts you to sleep the moment you hit the bed.
Deepak Chopra's Sohum: As per Deepak Chopra sohum breathing exercise helps you to sleep well. Say So as you inhale and while exhaling say hum. It calms you and puts you to sleep instantly.
Mantra Of Devi: If you keep reciting this sloka, slowly your thoughts stop haunting and will fall asleep within 10-15 minutes. We have sourasuktha and Ratri Sukta out of which Ratrisukta belongs to Nidradevi.
Just recite this 3 times but remember you have to take several deep breaths before beginning to chant this mantra. You will not know when you fell asleep.

Shiva Panchakshari Mantra: The mantra Om Namah Shivaya is easy for even kids to recite. It banishes nightmares and gives a very good sleep. This mantra is also used for several other purposes.
Krishna Mantra For Sleep: Hara hara mukundaya. Any fear or phobia will be eliminated by uttering this mantra. Your worries will leave you and allow you to sleep well.
The OM Mantra: Om is the primordial mantra that helps you calm down, relax and sleep. You may not feel sleepy initially but when you continue the practice you will realise its scope.
When a machine was used recently to ascertain what kind of sound emanated from the cosmos, it recorded the sound OM. Now you know the universal applicability of this mantra.
Narasimha Beejakshara Mantra: It is a single letter mantra that has immeasurable benefits. Not only it deters your enemies from conspiring against you, it also helps you to attain liberation from the worldly cycle. Most importantly it gives you a good sleep. Mantra: Kshroum , क्ष्रौं .

Method For This Mantra: Chant it during Pradosh time. Take bath and wear red or saffron clothes before you recite. You should be seated facing east and light a Diya with sesame oil. Imagine Narasimha mentally and chant this mantra, one rosary.
