When Neha Kakkar and Rohanpreet Singh first met on the set of their music video 'Nehu Da Vyah', neither of them expected it would lead to a real wedding. Neha Kakkar wasn't expecting a love story then and certainly not with someone approx. six years and five months younger than her.
At 37, as she celebrates another year of life and music, her relationship with Rohanpreet Singh continues to draw both curiosity and admiration, but the relationship grew in ways neither had planned.
The song in the music video, which playfully imagined a wedding scenario, became a turning point in both their lives. For Rohanpreet, it was love at first sight, describing Neha as grounded and warm despite her fame.
Neha, too, felt an immediate pull. She noticed how genuinely kind he was to everyone on set. Something clicked in those early moments, a subtle certainty that he was different.
The Pause Before The Leap
What followed was something more relatable than a seamless fairytale. Neha had been through heartbreak before and wasn't interested in casual dating. She told Rohanpreet up front that she was only looking for marriage. At the time, he was just 25 - young, unsure, and not ready for that step. So they stopped talking.
But the distance didn't last long. One night, Rohanpreet called her after a few drinks and confessed that he couldn't stop thinking about her. Neha didn't take him seriously at first. But the next day, he showed up again, this time clear-headed and certain. He told her he truly wanted to marry her.

Their wedding came quickly - surprising fans and even some close to them. The celebrations spanned Mumbai, Delhi, and Chandigarh, including a mix of Sikh and Hindu ceremonies. From the Anand Karaj in the morning to the Hindu rituals in the evening, it was a blend of tradition and emotion.
On October 24, 2020, just weeks after going public with their relationship, Neha and Rohanpreet became husband and wife.

Their honeymoon in Dubai shared through playful Instagram stories offered fans a glimpse into the joy they found in each other's company. But what people saw on screen or online was just a part of it. What stood out in their journey was not the pace of their romance, but the clarity behind it.
