Rava Ladoo Recipe: How To Make Rava Unde
Rava ladoo is an authentic Indian sweet that is prepared during joyous occasions and festivals. Here is a simple recipe to make sooji ladoo with a detailed procedure along with images and a video.
Rava ladoo is a popular Indian sweet that is prepared specially during festivals and other religious ceremonies. This sweet is popular in Karnataka as rava unde and also in Tamil Nadu as rava urundai.
Sooji ladoo as the name suggests is made of fine sooji, dried coconut and sugar. Milk and ghee are used to bind the ingredients into a ladoo. The crunch of the dry fruits with the aroma of the ghee and the softness of the sooji makes this sweet utterly mouth-watering and delicious.

Ghee - ½ cup + 2 tbsp
Raisins - ¼th cup
Split cashew nuts - ¼th cup
Sooji (fine rava) - ½ bowl
Dry grated coconut - ¾th cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Elaichi (cardamom) - 1
Milk - 3 tbsp

1. Add 2 tablespoons of ghee into a heated pan.
2. Add raisins and split cashew nuts.
3. Roast them until they turn light brown.
4. Transfer them into a mixing bowl.
5. Retain the ghee and add sooji into the pan.
6. Roast the sooji until the raw smell goes away and starts to change its colour to light brown.
7. Add half a cup of ghee and roast it again for 2-3 minutes.
8. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
9. Meanwhile, add dry grated coconut in a mixer jar.
10. Add sugar and cardamom into it.
11. Grind it into a smooth powder.
12. Add the roasted sooji into the mixing bowl.
13. Add the powdered sugar mixture.
14. Mix well.
15. Add milk and mix well again with the hands.
16. Roll them into small round ladoos in between the palms and serve.
- 1. The dry grated coconut and sugar mixture can be ground coarsely according to your preference.
- 2. The mixture must be warm while rolling it into ladoos.
- 3. If the ladoos break, add extra milk to bind the mixture and roll them again.

STEP BY STEP - HOW TO MAKE RAVA LADOO
