Stop Bullying With These Tips

Do you see your child getting involved into violent acts regularly? Just check with the school for his records, he might be a bully. Bullying, according to psychologists maybe a mental disorder which erupts mostly due to insecurity and loneliness. Bullies are bullies for attention seeking and to cover up their inferiority complex. Though we find bullies in every walk of life, bullies in schools are most common.

The question is how to stop bullying when you as a parent come to know about your child. To stop it needs complete understanding of the situation and of the extent of his activities. Here are some tips on how as a parent you can stop bullying -

1.Don't Take Excuses – You are sure to get excuses from him for all his bulling. The excuse usually is 'I was joking'. Don't accept this. You need to confront him and let him know that you know that he is a bully. Make him understand the ways of society and the advantages of being a well mannered person in the society. Ask him why is he a bully and you are sure to not get the answer from him immediately. You will have to talk to him everyday and keep an eye on his every move and note his reaction for a situation. This will help you understand him better.

2.Stop R Rated Movies – R rated movies are violent movies which children should never be allowed to watch. This can be one of the reasons which is erupting violence within them. Make sure you prevent them from watching R rated movies. Bullies usually have their own gang and you need to seperate him from that gang.

3.Understand His Insecurity – One way to stop bullying is to understand the reason behind it. The reason as mentioned earlier is insecurity. You need to find that out. Sometimes bullying maybe their outcome for an anger with which they are suffering. Household problems, relationship troubles, comparison can be some of the reasons of being a bully. You need to understand from where the insecurity erupting and how can you handle it.

4.Punishment – He needs to be punished for his deeds. Bullies pretend to be not scared of anyone but fear is good for him. He needs to be get scared of you and you need to punish him for all he did. But the punishment should not be the first step. If it is the first step then it will only enhance his anger, you need to help him come out of it and punish him whenever he takes the wrong road.

Try these ways to stop bullying. Ways to stop bullying should be undertaken at nascent stages to avoid future psychological problems.
