Tips To Beat Monday Morning Laziness
One of the most common fears the world over is Monday. Monday mornings are often sad, depressive and our motivation levels are at an all-time low. Maybe it is the forceful reality check that you hate after two days of pure, uninterrupted bliss (read, weekends). You wish that weekends were longer. Well, we would like you to know that the feeling of Monday morning laziness is unanimously mutual the world over.
Why Do We Feel Lazy On Mondays?
Monday's make waking up a seemingly impossible chore. Even after you drag yourself out of deep slumber to take a shower, the water looks ridiculously cold. You splash some water around and walk out, announcing that you bathed. The morning chai (tea) doesn't work, in spite of all the masala. As you sip in the last traces of tea, you know deep within your heart that it's another one of those lazy Monday's. Monday brings out the worst in us, at least it seems that way. But what can be done about the laziness and the depression following it? What can be done about the twitch to take down your boss for just asking "How was your weekend?" as it reminds you of the two days of bliss that just got over?
Follow these steps to work your way out of the Monday morning laziness syndrome.

Identify
the
problem
There
has
to
be
a
reason
why
Monday's
are
so
dreadful
for
you.
Maybe
it's
something
that
you're
doing
or
are
not
doing.
Maybe
you
have
a
problem
with
your
boss
or
a
co-worker.
Or
just
maybe
you
just
hate
your
job
and
you
should
start
searching
someplace
else!
To
know
how
to
beat
Monday
morning
blues
the
first
step
is
to
recognise
the
problem.

Prepare
for
Monday
on
Friday
Agreed
that
the
burning
desire
to
rush
home
or
the
nearby
disco
seems
terribly
inviting,
but
organizing
yourself
on
a
Friday
will
help
you
in
getting
rid
of
the
Monday
morning
blues.
You
could
start
by
making
a
note
of
the
important
tasks
which
are
scheduled
for
Monday.
Planning
for
ahead
aids
in
your
fight
against
laziness
and
hence
drives
away
those
blues.

Unplug
for
the
weekend
Since
the
dawn
of
technology
or
more
specifically,
the
smartphone,
people
have
been
taking
their
work
to
their
bedroom.
What
was
supposedly
a
boon
now
seems
like
a
bane!
On
weekends
unplug
yourself
from
technology
and
try
actually
getting
into
an
animated
conversation
with
your
loved
ones.
It
goes
a
long
way
in
beating
those
Monday
work
blues.

Early
to
bed
early
to
rise...
Benjamin
Franklin
was
so
damn
right
when
he
said,
"Early
to
bed
early
to
rise
makes
a
man
healthy,
wealthy
and
wise.".
A
routine
is
an
essential
part
of
any
human
being's
existence.
So
it's
not
a
good
idea
to
switch
off
that
alarm
for
the
weekend.
On
Sunday
night
go
to
bed
soon
and
wake
up
early.
So
hitting
the
hay
early
helps
in
fighting
off
those
Monday
morning
laziness.

"Because
I'm
Happy"
attitude
Attitude
goes
a
long
way
in
determining
the
kind
of
day
that
Monday
will
be.
It
doesn't
really
matter
if
you
wake
up
facing
the
sun
or
something
else.
Studies
show
that
even
pretending
that
you're
happy
goes
a
long
way
in
beating
the
Monday
morning
laziness.
So
sing
along
with
Pharrell
Williams
to
"Happy"
and
make
Monday
a
fun
day.

Smile
your
way
into
Monday
Pretty
much
like
hiccups,
a
smile
is
also
quite
contagious.
Smile
at
a
stranger
and
he/she
will
smile
back
or
perhaps
call
the
police!
We're
kidding!
Most
of
the
times
they
will
smile
back
or
just
leave
feeling
better
about
themselves.
Don't
try
to
figure
out
how
to
beat
Monday
morning
blues!
It's
as
simple
as
smiling
at
each
other.
Sure
the
world
seems
a
little
more
crazier
but
when
wasn't
it?
