Not a sari person? Well, think again as we bring forward some of the best sarees straight from the Lakme Fashion Week runway. Not only are we tempted to wear them but the different styles of draping a sari is just marvelous. The fabric, form and the designs just melt us down with the desire to have all of them.

The reinvention of saris make it every woman's desire as the contemporary and modern look goes with every age group. The young girls now can bring out their mothers' drapes from the closet out mimicking the designers of this year's Lakme Fashion Week 2015.

Bringing forward the vintage aesthetics with a contemporary twist, Yogesh Chaudhary showcased some of the season's best sari collection. His collection 'Mithu' dwells inspiration from the joys of spring knocking our doors vigorously.

Drawing inspiration from parrots his collection has elements such as jharoka backs and actual parrot motifs. He follows techniques like foiling, flocking, hand and machine embroidery.

Our next favourite would be Krishna Mehta's boho chic collection. They are such fun wear with vibrant colours and breezy, relaxed silhouettes. Colours used in this particular collection are fuchsia, orange and red which then move on to more toned down colours such as black, purple and indigo.

Her collection was a domination of colour riots with lots of bold block prints. It was edgy and brought out the free spirit aura to the wearer.

Vaishali S exhibited her collection 'Behrupia' for the Lakme Fashion Week 2015. This collection was a hand woven Indian fabric. It portrayed that a particular fabric or even a string of thread would turn out to be such magnificent attire. Her designs escalate the Indian orthodox design to another level.

Taking her signature linen line to a totally different level we have Anavila Misra. Her collection was a very earthly colour based. The hues of blue, beige and purple were soothing to the eyes.

Gaurang Shah's collection 'Kalpavriksha' was an iconic exhibit in traditional weaving genre. Bringing the simple khadi out with theme itself being 'Tree Of Life', the Jamdani weavers of Andhra Pradesh and Bangladesh did an impeccable job.

Shruti Sancheti's collection brought out the modern, contemporary vibe in a sari. It was more of an open minded selection. It was like the renaissance of sari. The tiny corset belts highlighting the waistline accessorised with a Lennon shades was so chic.

Soumitra Mondol's collection was like the white Indian fairytale. This white dominated collection had basically few sarees which were of peach shades. With sleek hairstyles and contemporary jewelery this collection was one of the must haves this wedding season.

Gauri Khan makes her debut at Lakme Fashion Week under Satya Paul label and her tropical collection was one to die for. This collection was filled with palm motifs and calligraphy. It was in an ombre hand painted wash based print.
