Why World Water Day Is Celebrated?

celebrate
World
Water
Day?
1.
We
all
know
that
water
is
a
important
for
a
healthy
body.
This
is
why,
UN
General
Assembly
decided
to
call
attention
towards
the
water
related
challenges.
2. In many parts of the world, there is very less water supply so through campaigns, this day is celebrated to create awareness about it.
3. World Water Day is coordinated by the Food and Agricultural Organization. The main motto behind celebrating this day is to conserve water for better agricultural production.
4. It is also a campaign to promote supply of clean and purified water.
5. World Water Day is also celebrated to ensure sustainable, efficient and equitable management of scarce water resources, both at international and local levels.
6. Most of the diseases worldwide are due to water. To prevent these water-borne diseases, UN General Assembly spreads the message of using purified water through this campaign.
These are few reasons behind celebrating World Water Day. Avoid wasting water. Always close the tap after use and prefer using clean and purified water. Every year, the day highlights a specific aspect of water. This 2012, the World Water day's theme is Water and Food Security
