Kingfisher Derby 2011: Pronto Pronto Creates History Again!

Over the years, competition has got tougher and the Kingfisher Derby witnessed some of the best internationally acclaimed jockeys and their prime stallions battling it out on the turf to provide a thrilling on-track experience. 17 stunning horses raced to the finish across 2000 mtrs and competed for the coveted prize money and the famous trophy – the silver horse.
A roaring crowd of over 22 thousand people came down to the Bangalore Turf Club this year, adding another feather to the cap of Kingfisher Derby 2011. Some of the most attractive people of the city were seen having a good time and thoroughly enjoying the races, turning the venue into a fashion haven on a leisurely Sunday afternoon. In attendance at the Kingfisher Derby were well-known people from all walks of life - Sandalwood industry, socialites, racing enthusiasts, making it the one of the most glamourous race ever.
Having a great time at the event was Mr. Samar Singh Sheikhawat, Senior Vice President, Marketing, United Breweries Limited who said, “The finale of the Kingfisher Derby 2011 was certainly worth the wait and I would like to congratulate the winners on their victory!! The Kingfisher Derby is considered the King of all Derbies, and with the prize money a whopping Rs. 2.36 crores has enabled us to achieve the feat of becoming the richest derby this year".
