2008 Goa Carnival

{image- www.boldsky.com}Brazilian Samba Music is the special attraction of this years Goa carnival which will kick start on the main street of the state capital on Saturday Feb 2, 2008. With Its commence the state will pulsate to the beats of the Samba.

Along with the goddess will arrive the supernova of carnivals a burst of colour, gorgeous girls, dancing and music that's the famous Rio Carnival. Indians can savor the throbbing gala live for the first time on the streets of Goa when Brazil puts up a float in the glamorous Goa Carnival.

The Brazilian participation comes with a theme - 'Discovery of Brazil Common Heritage-Cooperation for the Future'. Paulo Antonio Pinto, the Mumbai-based consul general of Brazil, said on Saturday, "We will showcase common heritage and will foster future cooperation through this event."

There are many similarities between Goan and Brazilian cultures depicted in Portuguese language, lifestyle, music, cuisine, crops and tropical climate.

Meanwhile, the authorities have taken every step possible to ensure the participants dress in accordance with the local culture and do not show too much skin
