My Life In Exile
Story Of Tibet

Almost all the people in the world know that the country China has occupied our small country Tibet and we Tibetans are residing in India as a refugee. I was born in India and I don"t know much about our motherland but I heard from my ancestors that it is a very picturesque place to live in. The country Tibet is surrounded with mountains and plateaus and its environments is very clean and cold.

Our ancestors fled from Tibet with our spiritual leader His Holiness The Dalai Lama and came to India as a refugee. The first president of India and the government of India gave us shelter in their own motherland even though we were foreigners. Today, there are many Tibetans settlement settled all over India namely, Mundgod, Bylakupe, Hunsur, Kollegal, Dehera Dun, Darjeling, Shilong, Sikkim, Himachal, Dharamsala, Orissa and many more places. The Tibetans living in India are getting every rights from the field of Education till the job opportunities and every basic needs that a human being should have. We the students and youths are the future seeds of Tibet so we need to be more active and alert about the happenings in Tibet. We are very thankful to government of India and the people of India for providing us with all the basic needs like shelter, food and clothing. Now we have our own government to rule over the Tibetans in India. Our head office is in Dharamsala.

The government of India has provided us with education, housing, job opportunities and moreover scholarships for for the bright Tibetans students to pursue higher studies after completing P.U.C. Every year the government of India reserve some special seats in the fields of Engineer, B.S.C. Nursing, M.B.B.S. and many more. So it is our duty to make the best use of these opportunities to free our country from the clutches of China. The freedom will not come to us, we have to go and take it.

Life of Tibetan fellow in Tibet
About the Tibetans living in Tibet, they are facing many problems and going through many troubles everyday. Not a single night is spent by our fellow Tibetan without fear. They have no freedom in their own motherland. The monks and the nuns of the Monasteries are also suffering in their day to day life. The monasteries has been destroyed and all our religious and holy books and scriptures has been destroyed and burned. It is sad to say that if anyone whether a child or an adult utter our spiritual leaders name from their mouth, they will be shot down with the gun on the spot by the Chinese police. They not only torture poor and innocent people but also the monks and the nuns.

Thats not all, if they find any women with the womb, she is by dragged to the hospital to kill the infant and if they couldn"t do so, they kill the pregnant women. Some of the Tibetan girls are forcedly put into the environment of prostitutes and not only girls but also the nuns of the monastery. They live a fearful life. Earlier our country was famous for having a rich natural resources but now the government of China has exploited our natural resources and transported it to their country for their own greed. They are also responsible for the deforestation in Tibet.

10th march, 1959
Chinese first came to Tibet in 1949 as traders and later occupied our land beginning from the small districts. Within a decade our country was fully occupied by China. They fooled Tibetans by offering them money and promising them better trade and profits. On 10th March, 1959, the Chinese killed millions of Tibetans and burned them in bulk when they protested against their brutal rule. Many people lost their lives while defending themselves and their country from Chinese rule and many fled from our motherland and came to India to seek help. On remembrance of this tragic event, Tibetans gather together for bitter mourning on 10th March every year. On this day we pray for the innocent and the patriotic people who sacrificed their life's and for the people who are still alive and being tortured by the Chinese government till date.

The agreement of the leaders
Our leader His Holiness The Dalai Lama has made an agreement with the Indian leaders for 90years of stay in India and over 50 years have just flown away. There is no use of sleeping in darkness, we have to wake up from the deep sleep and do something for the betterment of our future generation. Wake up Tibetans and try to look over the world and see the position of our country. The world is reaching great heights very rapidly within a fraction of seconds but we Tibetans are the one who is lacking behind. No matter if you are an illiterate, who knows you can be a better person than a literate, if you choose the right path. There is saying that “to come". God sees truth but waits for the right time and right place. So never loose hope as it"s for sure that one day our good times will also come and we will surely succeed.

Word of Thanks
We the Tibetan people are very grateful and thankful for the support of the Indian government. We are not from the same nationality and belong to different religious background but the people of India treat us like same family members. I pray and hope that your love and support will always be on our shoulders in future too and you will help us to set our motherland free from the Chinese domination before our countries name disappears in the shade of world power.

Everybody in the world has one motherland but we the Tibetans are very lucky to have two- one is obviously Tibet and another is India. India has secured a high position in the place of humanity by helping us and now it"s our duty to free our country Tibet from the clutches of China before it is too late.
