The Met Gala Ball better known as the Met Ball is the most fashionable night for the fashion fraternity. Every year, this ball event has a different theme and celebrities design their costumes accordingly.

Met Gala 2014 has the theme of Charles James: 'Beyond Fashion'. Now, that is a theme really open to interpretation as compared to last year's straight cut theme of ‘Punk'. So Met Ball 2014 has allowed celebrities to work on their own creative ideas of what fashion means to them.

Almost all the celebrities at the Met Gala 2014 have already arrived as the event is in full swing. So, we thought it would now be safe to comment on their sense of fashion. Met Gala 2014 has given quite a few surprises. We have seen celebrities at the Met Ball 2014 don from simple to very elaborate costumes. While we love Emma Stone's sweet and simple pink outfit, we also loved the elaborate ball room gown that Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing.

KIM KARDASHIAN'S WARDROBE MALFUNCTION

That is why the theme of ‘Beyond Fashion' is an excellent idea for Met Gala 2014. It gives all these celebrities a chance to think beyond the usual limits of fashion and come up with something of their own.

For example, Rihanna's outfit was something of a shocker but it works wonderfully on her. Lupita N'yong chose to wear a costume from her native village of Nigeria and she looks stunning in it.

Well, minus the sneaky underwear peak, Kim Kardashian did well in this sparkling blue Lanvin gown. The strapless blue thigh-high slit gown was a huge improvement on Kim's last year's curtain gown!

Emma Stone Pretty In Pink

Emma Stone made the strongest fashion statement with the simplest outfit from Thakoon NY. The Pink wrap skirt and sleeveless crop top was paired up with Miu Miu shoes.
