If we actually get down to looking at all the musicians who changed the world, the list will never end. This is because every musician has changed the world in his or her own way. An artist always comes with a perspective that is different from others. So on World Music Day, every single musician in the world deserves due respect and tribute.

World Music Day falls on the 21st of June every year. On this day, we are doing a head count of the legendary musicians who changed the world in terms of musical experience. These musicians changed the way in which we listen to music. For example, Bob Dylan was a country folk singer. One fine day, he walked on to the stage with an electric guitar and from then, we know him as a spearhead of rock music.

Similarly, Michael Jackson despite his strange inclinations was always a pop star. His songs inspired people and even today when 'man in the mirror' is played live, people have tears in their eyes. Blues musicians are in their own league. The essence of blues is to play something so slow that it becomes an art.

On World Music Day, lets take a look back into the history to pay a tribute to all the musicians who really changed the world.

Billie Holiday

Billie Holiday is one the first among the jazz musicians to make it big. She was also one of the first African-American woman to become a phenomenal musician. Her track 'strange fruit' is still one of the crowing glories of jazz music.

Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley is the master of stage. He was one of the early musicians who made rock and roll seriously respectable in the world.

B B King

Sometimes, they just called him the 'King'. He was ranked on the 6th position by Rolling Stones magazine as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. He is a blues musician who was a part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well.

Elton John

Elton John was basically a rock musician but there is nothing that he couldn't do. He write songs, acted and even played the piano like a pro.

Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan was originally a country folk singer. But from the time he picked up the electric guitar, there was no keeping him away from rock and roll. But today we see Bod Dylan more as a poet because he was so witty in writing lyrics.

Pandit Ravi Shankar

Pandit Ravi Shankar is a classical sitar player. His fame around the world has proved that classical music can be just as popular as commercial music.

It is the first original boys band that set the world on a roll. They are without any scope of doubt the most popular rock and roll band in the history. People argue about who was the greater musician, John Lennon or George Harrison. But for real music lovers, it was the united Beatles that created magic.

MJ has moonwalked his way into history forever. He was a sensation when he played live. People looked at pop music with a slight until and unless MJ came around.

This band was the master of trance music. People still listen to Pink Floyd's 'brick in the wall' when they are really down and out. They made depressive music just as respectable as chirpy tunes.

Madonna is ageless and timeless. We are not talking about her beauty but her music. Madonna was the first female pop-star in the world. Now we have many girl rockers but she will always be the first and the best.
