Celebrity dresses are usually haute couture but for even the best designers can get it wrong for once. Here are the most bizarre red carpet dresses worn by celebrities in the history of Oscars.

5 Most Bizarre Red Carpet Dresses Ever:

1. Uma Thurman, 2004: It is an unfathomed mystery till date that why did Uma Thurman famous for long legs decided to hide them under a shepherd girl's cloak! This dress is a designer evening gown for a shepherd girl in Scotland and there is just no better way to describe it. This white dress actually has a golden backpack attached to it! Did this gracious lady expect to feed grazing cows at the Oscars!

2. Demi Moore, 1989: Even the most elegant stars can come with atrocious celebrity dresses. Imagine having to put Demi Moore in the worst dressed list! But what is the possible excuse for turning up at the Oscars in a dress that is a pair of cycling shorts enclosed by a magician's cloak. The black velvet bodice with a trimming gold and colours was all fine but then the dress suddenly separates into shorts and a skirts that is open like a cloak. What a horror!

3. Bjork, 2001: Catch her! Catch her! She is going to fly away to yonder lands. This famous Scandinavian singer was probably missing the ice back home, so she turned up in white swan's costume wrapped over flesh coloured overalls. If the flesh tone was an attempt at being sexy then it failed miserably and the swan frills we don't even wish to discuss. Easily one of the worst red carpet dresses ever.

4. Tilda Swinton, 2008: This graceful lady had probably taken her Greek goddess look a notch too seriously. The dress with its numerous folds was a toga like replica of what is typically a Greek outfit but the colour and material went horribly wrong. Instead of white linen or soft silk it was black velvet! The heavy folds made it look more like a sack than a celebrity dress.

5. Marion Cotillard, 2009: Imagine wearing a Christian Dior red carpet dress and still ending up in the worst dressed list. Such is the bad luck of Marion this designer evening gown was a confusion and arbitrary mix of eras that didn't click.
