Genesys Appoints As M.D In India

"Shamsheer's unique mix of both technical and business experience, along with his vast industry knowledge and proven track record, strongly positions Genesys in the India contact centre market," said Michael McBrien, senior vice president, Asia Pacific, Genesys. "India is quickly becoming one of the most innovative contact centre markets worldwide with enterprises delivering advanced applications for inbound and outbound customer interactions, as well as some very exciting speech and mobile applications for consumers."

Prior to joining Genesys, Mr. Ahmed served as Director of Business Development for Cisco in Singapore, responsible for all aspects of Cisco Asia's strategy for unified communications. Prior to this, Mr. Ahmed worked for Avaya for 6 years in Singapore, most recently being responsible for product strategy for the company's contact centre applications in the Asia Pacific region where he significantly grew the business. Mr. Ahmed has also held positions with Cable & Wireless in Hong Kong (now Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited-PCCW) and the former Lucent Technologies in Asia Pacific.
Mr. Ahmed completed his Executive MBA Program at INSEAD (France), and holds Bachelors' degrees in Electrical Engineering from the College of Military Engineering and in Science from the National Defense Academy, both located in Pune, India. Mr. Ahmed also served as an Army Officer, Corps of Engineers in the Indian Armed Forces for 10 years.
