Mukta Arts ltd banner
Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) Keeping with his tradition of making new project announcements to mark each anniversary of his Mukta Arts ltd banner, veteran showman Subhash Ghai today announced seven new films - three films under Mukta Searchlight and four under Mukta Arts Entertainment.
This includes one film which will be directed by him and will star Salman Khan.
The directors of all these films have been finalised, while the cast and crew are under finalisation. The four films under Mukta Entertainment are slated to commence production by March-April 2007 and completed by January 2008, while the three films under Mukta Searchlight banner will commence production by November 21 this year and be completed by April 2007, a press release issued by Mr Ghai said here today.
The four films under Mukta Entertainment include an untitled film to be directed by Subhash Ghai himself, starring Salman Khan, a film by Anees Bazmi being written by Pattoo Parekh and other two films directed by Anurag Basu and Abbas Mastan respectively. The cast and crew of these films is under finalisation and will be announced at a later date, the release informed.
The three films under the Mukta Searchlight banner include a film by Subhash Ghai titled 'Black n White', which will be shot in one schedule, starting from November 21 this year. It will introduce a new hero Anurag Sinha. Anil Kapoor will play a stellar role in the film. The other one to be directed by him will star Salman Khan and two star heroines being short listed in this Rs 30 crore budget film under Mukta Arts Entertainment.
The other two films, one by Nagesh Kukunoor's 'Bombay 2 Bangkok' and the other by his chief assistant Shashi Sudigala titled 'Cycle Kick' will go on floors on November 1 under the banner of Mukta Searchlight Films which produced 'Iqbal'.
''It's high time that we focus on good stories and scripts than mere proposal making. All the projects and stories with its relative team and genre of the film have been very carefully chosen and I predict three new stars shinning and making it big in 2007'', said Subhash Ghai.
Mukta Searchlight films was launched in 2004 to encourage independent cinema and debut film-makers with low cost productions, while Mukta Arts Entertainment was launched to cater to mainstream popular cinema like last release '36 CHINA TOWN' and this year's release Sangeeth Sivan's 'Apna Sapna Money Money' which is slated for a November 10 release.
