Let Your House Shine In Monsoon!

As the pours high in monsoon the moisture and humidity also find their rapid progress in the atmosphere. As you enjoy the cozy climate and lie back, there may be some scene on your house to disturb your relaxed time. It is none other than the moss or fungus on the so far shining wooden surfaces or painted walls on your pretty home. Never worry, this monsoon you can battle them off with these easy tips.
Take
the
effective
use
of
hygienic
chlorine
solution
to
battle
the
fungus
effectively.
If
the
fungus
is
on
a
small
surface,
dip
a
cloth
into
the
chlorine
solution
and
wipe
the
fungus
off.
However
if
the
fungus
has
spread
to
a
wide
area,
take
a
paintbrush
and
apply
the
chlorine
solution
on
the
fungus.
The
solution
will
kill
the
fungus
and
clean
the
surface
at
the
same
time.
The
moss
removal
on
a
concrete
surface
requires
special
attention
since;
the
moss
on
the
hard
surface
may
not
be
easily
removable
as
that
on
a
wooden
surface.
Here,
you
can
mix
a
heavy
detergent
and
bleaching
powder
in
hot
water
and
splash
it
on
the
concrete
surface.
You
may
soon
witness
a
moss
free
surface.
You must have decorated your garden benches or other outside home extensions with rocks. Well never try the above tips to remove the moss on these surfaces. Even though it will free the rock surfaces of moss, they may also make it slippery. Use a high-pressure hose to get rid of moss on the rock surfaces.
You can also try the magic of vinegar to get rid of the moss in your home. Put the vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on mossed areas. Get a knife and pass it under mossed areas. The moss will come out very easily!
After the moss is dead, it can be carefully flushed off the affected area with a pressure washer. This will prevent the future growth of the moss.
If the moss was inhabited on the roof, install zinc strips at the peak and at down-roof intervals to inhibit future moss growth.
Before the arrival of monsoon, clean your roof of dust, leaves or any other particles on which moisture can accumulate. This will prevent the growth of moss effectively.
Before monsoon dust the prospective moss affected areas with a zinc sulphate monohydrate powder, such as Corry's Moss B Ware(TM) or equivalent. Let the dissolve the powder naturally and it will gradually spread over the roof below the ridges. The moss/lichens will die after 3-4 weeks of wet weather.
If you plan to repaint your home before monsoon, scrape off loose paint and sand glossy spots. Pick a mildew-resistant paint for a fungus free home.
