Your blood type can actually tell a lot about you, also about the kind of blood group you're likely to be at risk.
Your blood type can tell you if you're more or less susceptible to certain health conditions. Hence, knowing which blood group you belong to is very important.

Most of the people hardly have a clue about their blood type. One of the main reasons that people must know their blood type is for blood transfusion. Getting the right blood in the time of need is very important.
Apart from this, the most important factor would be to know about the kind of health condition that you're more at risk.

If your blood type is O, then you have a lower risk of developing blood clots. People with A, B and AB blood types are at 30% higher risk of inheriting lifelong bleeding disorder.
Having AB blood types contributes to 20% of the risk for blood clots.
Having O positive or negative blood types can cut down your risk for many health conditions. Those with O blood type are at a lower risk of developing gastric cancers.
The advantage of being A or AB is that, you're less likely to develop peptic ulcers than those with type O. The ones with O are more likely to develop stomach ulcers.
Those with type O blood have a lower risk of developing coronary heart disease by up to 23%. According to a study, the highest level of risk are types AB and B.

The ones with O are less likely to develop pancreatic cancer. Type A are 32% more likely to develop pancreatic cancer and AB are 51% more likely. Type B are 72% more likely to develop this condition.
Blood type AB was associated with a 23% higher risk of cardiovascular disease and B was associated with 11% higher risk.
Those with A, B or AB blood type were at a higher risk of developing stomach cancer compared with people who were of the blood type O.

It was also found that type 2 diabetes was more likely to develop in those with types A and B blood groups, compared with type O blood group.
In a study that was conducted, it was found that nearly 500 adults who had cognitive impairment, and a greater proportion of them were type AB than any other blood type.
