Stay Away From These Foods If You Have Irritable Bowel Syndrome!
Avoid these foods if you want to reduce IBS symptoms!
When we hear the word diet, most of us usually relate it with weight loss, right?
Well, a diet is nothing but a set of rules related to foods we eat that we must follow, in order to remain healthy or to treat or prevent certain pre-existing ailments, not just for weight loss.
For instance, people suffering from diabetes are asked to avoid certain foods and include certain foods to their daily meals, this is called a diet for diabetic patients.
Similarly, when we are suffering from a cold or flu, we are asked to avoid cold and oily food.

So, as we can see, there are a number of food rules that one must follow in order to treat a disease.
Because, there are some foods which can worsen a health condition, when consumed.
Most of us would already know for a fact that a balanced diet is extremely important for the health, even when you are not suffering from any health ailments.
A diet is filled with all the nutrients required, such as, carbohydrates, minerals, proteins, fats, vitamins, etc.
Consuming a balanced diet can help keep us healthy and strong.
However, even a balanced diet needs to be altered sometimes, if you are suffering from a disease.
Now, many of us would have suffered from conditions, like constipation and diarrhoea, at some point in our lives, right?
Well, imagine going through the symptoms of both constipation and diarrhea on a regular basis!
It can be rather hard, right? There is an intestinal ailment known as the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with symptoms that include both constipation and diarrhoea at regular intervals!
Other symptoms of IBS include, stomach cramps, acidity, indigestion, nausea, extreme abdominal pain, etc.
So, here is a list of foods to be avoided if you are suffering from IBS.

1. Pasta
Foods like pasta and even many types of pizza are high in gluten content and studies have shown that gluten can further worsen the symptoms of IBS.

2. Dairy Products
Consuming dairy products, like milk, butter, cheese, etc., if you have irritable bowel syndrome can increase the chances of diarrhoea, due to their lactose content.

3. Fried Foods
Although fried foods are unhealthy generally, for people with IBS, they can be extra harmful, as the oil and fat content in them can affect the already inflamed digestive tract.

4. Beans
Beans are rich in protein content and when consumed by people with IBS, they can increase the gas produced in the stomach, thus, worsening the symptoms.

5. Caffeinated Drinks
Coffee, energy drinks, tea, etc., can all prove to be bad for people with IBS, as caffeine has a stimulating effect on the intestines, which can increase diarrhoea.

6. Processed Foods
Processed meats, frozen foods, fast foods, etc., contain a whole lot of preservatives which can further inflame the intestine of people with IBS.

7. Alcohol
Although alcohol is a beverage and not a food, it can cause extreme inflammation in most of your internal organs, including the intestines, thus, worsening IBS symptoms.
