Asthma: Important Things You Need To Take Care Of
Asthma attacks cannot be cured, but they can be prevented. Here are a few things that you need to keep in mind if you are suffering from asthma.
Asthma is a very common respiratory problem that can affect people of all ages, but more particularly children. This is a type of inflammatory disease of the airways of the lungs.
The symptoms vary depending on the cause and severity of the disease. The most common symptoms that are found generally in almost all asthma patients are wheezing, coughing, chest tightness and shortness of breath.

The timing and frequency of the attack also varies depending on many external and environmental factors.
The most important thing to be noted about asthma is that if you do not treat asthma at an early stage, it can even be life threatening.
Even when you are taking treatment, there are many things that can still trigger a recurrence of asthma attack. So, managing the disease properly is very important.
If you are an asthma patient or if you have someone who is suffering from asthma in your family, you have to take some extra care. Genetic and environmental factors can trigger asthma attacks.
Here we will discuss some easy and effective important things that you need to take care of when you have asthma. Knowing this will help you to prevent an asthma attack.

1. Finding The Cause:
There are some common allergens that trigger asthma attacks. This will vary from person to person. Finding the cause will solve half of the problem. If you feel that you have asthma that is seasonal, look for triggers like pollen grains or certain weather conditions.

2. Avoid The Trigger
It is easy to say, but not that practical. But still, once you know what triggers the asthma attack, take complete caution in avoiding those. Avoiding the trigger is the most practical approach to manage asthma.

3. Avoid Asthma-Triggering Foods:
There are some foods like dairy products or cheese that trigger an asthma attack. This is found only in certain people and depends on their genetic build and allergy type. So, it is always recommended to avoid those foods that usually cause asthma attacks.

4. Quit Smoking:
Are you a smoker? Then, you have more chances than non-smokers to experience asthma attacks. Quit smoking for a good reason now. Smoking will congest the lungs and will make breathing more difficult when you have asthma.

5. Avoid Allergens
There are some common things that are in the list of allergens. This can be dust from your home, animal fur, pollen grains or any plants. To be on the safer side, avoid getting exposed to allergens. Keep your home and surrounding clean and free of allergens.

6. Watch The Mattress
Dust on the mattress is a common asthma trigger that we may usually overlook. Since we spend almost more than six hours continuously on the bed, it is important to keep your mattress clean and dust free.

7. Yoga
Yoga has many options for you to increase your lung capacity. It is a good idea to practice yoga regularly. This will make the breathing process easy and will help to decrease the severity of asthma attacks.

8. Occupational Asthma:
Some workplaces increase the risk of getting asthma. This is especially in work places that expose you to allergens like asbestos, dust, cement powder or chemicals. So, make sure that you are using personal protective equipment while working.

9. Change In Lifestyle:
An overall change in your lifestyle can improve your health condition if you have asthma. This should reflect in almost all sections of your life ranging from a change in the food habits to quitting smoking. Good lifestyle will keep you healthy.

10. Medications:
There are two types of asthma treatments depending on the stages and severity of the symptoms. This can be short term treatment and long term treatments. Taking good treatment in the beginning stage itself can improve your condition effectively.
