Do's And Don'ts Of Jogging
How many of us want an easy way to lose weight and stay healthy without putting in a lot of effort? I guess there will be many raised hands as an answer to this question.
Well, bid your worries adieu and start jogging instead to have that envious figure and a fresh mind.
Jogging not only helps you lose weight but it also freshens you up and makes you feel energetic.
While jogging, the only 'weight-loss instruments' you need are your limbs and not some heavy weights as required in a gym.
There's nothing as good as being able to jog outdoors, as it allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature while providing you enough of fresh air that gyms or indoor workouts cannot provide.

Wondering what might be the health benefits of a convenient and ancient practice like jogging? Read on:
a) Quite obviously, it helps you lose weight, thus making you look more beautiful.
b) It helps you overcome stress and lead a peaceful and mentally healthy life.
c) Jogging helps prevent and control diabetes.
d) Jogging increases the supply of oxygen in your body, thus helping prevent some cancers.
e) It keeps heart diseases and hypertension at bay.
However, if you have any medical conditions, then you should consult a medical practitioner to know whether jogging is safe for you or not.
Also, while jogging, certain things should be kept in mind, both for beginners as well as the experienced ones. So, joggers take a note of the following Do's and Don'ts of jogging.

1) DO Wear Proper Running Clothes:
Do wear clothes made out of thin materials that absorb body sweat. If it's cold, cover your hands, feet and head to retain heat. While jogging, you should wear proper sports shoes and discard the torn ones.

2) DO Warm Up Before Jogging:
Before starting your daily jogging regimen, warm up your body by stretching, so as to charge up your tired muscles.

3) DO Keep Yourself Hydrated:
Irrespective of the weather, your body loses fluids in the form of sweat while jogging. So, drink enough water or certain healthy sports drinks before, during and after jogging to keep yourself hydrated.

4) DO Set A Goal:
Start jogging slowly first and then speed up. You should set a goal for yourself in terms of time and distance.

5) DON'T Wear Headphones While Jogging:
Wearing headphones might distract you from the natural surroundings, therefore, leaving you at the mercy of speeding cars and bikes, running dogs, etc.

6) DON'T Stay In Damp Clothes:
Staying in sweat-drenched clothes after jogging increases your chances of getting hypothermia by decreasing the body temperature further. So, you should change your clothes if they are wet.

7) DON'T Jog In Remote Areas:
You should not jog in remote areas, especially while jogging alone or while jogging without carrying an identity card, as doing so might pose a threat to your safety and security when you are on the roads.

8) DON'T 'Train' With 'Pain':
You should not jog if you have physical injuries, as jogging might further aggravate the pain and once the pain gets severe, you might be tied down to the bed for as long as a week or two.
