Nutrients- To maintain a healthy body and mind you need all the nutrients like carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and proteins in the right proportions. But, when you are on a fast weight loss diet scheme, you cut your food intake to a minimum. Due to this either you are derived of multiple nutrients or you do not get it in the right proportions. This may result in malnutrition and nutrient deficiencies like scurvy and anaemia. You will even have a weakened immune system and develop increased chances of procuring life threatening diseases like cancer.

Muscle Breakdown- Fast weight loss may affect your health by breaking down your muscle tissues. Most of the times when we diet we are barely aware of the fact as to what we are losing, fat or muscles. Diet plans that make you lose weight fast most of the times burn the body muscles instead of the fat. As a result of the loss in body muscles vital minerals like calcium, potassium and sodium also get depleted. It might raise severe health concerns.

Gain Back Weight- Patience bears its own sweet results. But if you do not have it then be ready to bear the results. The body starts burning fewer calories per day. As a result all the food that you consume is not burned up completely in the body. This again leads to an increase in the body weight after a certain period of time. Thus we find that a rapid weight loss plan barely has any health benefits.

So, before you take up any weight loss diet as such, consider the health hazards that it might cause.
