Rapid diet can never be followed consistently. It just tires the person and leads to binging. Binging is eating food highly rich in calories to compensate for the hunger that is created due to dieting.
Cut back on calories and increase your physical activity. Overweight people are more prone to heart diseases and diabetes. Include fibrous food and a little carbohydrates too in your diet.
The diet control should begin gradually with lesser intake on fewer calories. This can be done by reducing the intake of food rich in calories and fat. The food intake should be regulated and monitored. Always eat when you are hungry and stop at the moment you feel you are half full. Don't ever skip meals as one may overeat later to fill the hunger.
