Foods You Should Eat When You Are Tired & Exhausted
Listed here are a few of the healthy foods that you should eat when you are tired.
All of us are completely aware of that feeling - it's late afternoon and we still have a work or project to complete; but the mind turns foggy, eyelids start sagging and we can't think straight.
For many of us, a soda, coffee or sugar-filled snack is the go-to solution. The sugar and caffeine definitely provide us an immediate pick up, but after that quick high wears off, we feel even more drained and lethargic.

As our energy levels decrease because of our overstressed lifestyles, many of us look for a quick fix to combat fatigue. But that's not the solution to this problem. The long-term solution to those occasional energy slumps is to change the diet regimen.
Eating nutritious food and at regular intervals keep the body charged throughout. However, even in the best of circumstances we may need an instant energy supply. Here are some natural foods that can quickly provide energy and leave us refreshed and revitalized.

1. Banana:
This natural energy booster is a perfect blend of complex carbohydrates, natural sugar, amino acids, vitamins and antioxidants. It helps to produce nor-epinephrine which improves the level of alertness. Easy to carry, a single fresh banana can provide 80 to 120 calories.

2. Nuts:
A handful of mixed raw nuts, seeds and dried fruits works as a wonderful snack whenever we need some instant energy. They are good sources of protein, healthy fat, fibre and minerals like magnesium and folate (folic acid).
These nutrients are essential for energy and cell production. However, packaged versions should be avoided as they often have excess salt and unhealthy oils.

3. Eggs:
Eggs are a fantastic breakfast option as they are a complete source of protein as they contain all nine essential amino acids necessary for our body's dietary needs.
Loaded with vitamin B complex and vitamin D, they are capable of giving a supply of energy throughout the day. Try snacking on a hard boiled egg or scrambled egg to boost energy right away.

4. Avocado:
Popularly known as a superfood, avocado is rich in vitamins B, C, K, minerals and monosaturated fatty acids that take a longer time to digest. High-fibre content of it keeps us full for a longer time. It can easily be added to your daily diet during breakfast to keep the body charged up throughout the day.

5. Dark Chocolates:
Chocolates are highly energizing and excellent mood-boosters. It has caffeine and other stimulants like theobromine and tryptophan (precursor of serotonin) that relax the mind.

6. Leafy Green Vegetables:
When it comes to getting that midday energy boost, vegetables are the best as they are low in calorie and high in fibre and minerals.
Veggies like spinach, cabbage and carrots take a longer time to digest and keep the body fuelled up until the next meal. Take it as a salad or enjoy as a smoothie to get the benefits.

7. Water:
Being hydrated is an easy and inexpensive way to increase energy levels. Keeping a fresh water source all times and drinking throughout the day can keep the body energized.
