Are Milkshakes Healthy?
Milkshakes are not the same as fresh fruit juices, so going on “milkshake diets” can prove to be futile and unhealthy. Read this!
Imagine this, you go out for a stroll on a warm day and you come across a place selling irresistible fruity milkshakes. Most of us would head straight in and order a glass, right?
Well, who does not like yummy milkshakes! The soothing cold, thick, sweet drink can make most of us go seeking it out often.
And today, we can find a whole array of milkshake flavours which can make it hard for us to say 'no' to them.
Right from fruity flavoured milkshakes like mango, strawberry, avocados, banana, etc., we do get certain other interesting blends like, chocolate, coffee and more!

Most of us would have one favourite flavour of milkshake and we would never pass up on a opportunity to enjoy them when we do get a chance!
In fact, many of us feel that milkshakes could be rather healthy, especially fruit milkshakes, as we think that they only contain fruit and milk.
In fact, many a times, we may have come across instances where people go on "milkshake diets" thinking that they are a healthier alternative to solid food!
However, milkshakes are not the same as fresh fruit juices, so going on "milkshake diets" can prove to be futile and unhealthy.
Now, as we may already know, Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine which has proven to be extremely powerful in treating and preventing a number of diseases, starting from a mild headache to deadly diseases like cancer!
A recent research study by experts in the field of Ayurveda has stated that consuming milkshakes on a regular basis can be extremely harmful for your health.

While many of us think that fruit milkshakes are healthy, because they are a combination of fruit and milk, both of which are healthy ingredients, Ayurveda opines differently.

According to Ayurveda, there are certain foods which can be unhealthy for you when paired up, even if they are healthy individually and fruit and milk is one such combination.
So, as milkshake is a combination of milk and fruit, it can lead to a number of negative reactions in your body, especially in your digestive system is what Ayurveda says.
Fruit and milk are not compatible foods, so when consumed together, they undergo fermentation in the intestines, causing gastritis, bloating and acidity, especially when consumed on a regular basis.

As mentioned in 'The Complete Book Of Ayurvedic Home Remedies' by Dr. Vasant Lad, milkshakes can be extremely harmful for the gut health, especially banana milkshakes and mango milkshakes, as they can undergo fermentation at a faster rate.
In fact, banana milkshakes can affect the sinus glands and cause cold and respiratory congestion too!
So, in conclusion, consuming milkshakes on a regular basis can be harmful for health, according to Ayurveda.
