Home Remedies For Eczema
Eczema known as 'Atopic Dermatitis' in medical terms, is one the most common skin disorders. Eczema is seen mostly in children and young adults. The symptoms of this disorder may vary from person to person. Some common symptoms include redness, itchiness, drying, flaking, crushing, skin rashes, skin swelling and bleeding. Though there is no cure for eczema, the symptoms can be controlled. It can spread all over the body if it is left untreated.
The exact cause of eczema is still a matter of research. However,eczema can be caused due to variety of reasons like genetics, environmental factors, stress, hormonal imbalance, irritability to certain soaps and shampoos and allergies. Though there are lot of medications available for eczema, it is advisable to use home remedies. Home remedies don't do any harm to your skin and is more economical.

Honey
The anti inflammatory and antibacterial property present in honey treats eczema effectively. Honey speeds up the process of healing and minimises skin irritation and itching. Apply some amount of honey to the affected area, leave it for 30 minutes. Wash off with cold water. Repeat this procedure thrice a day for the best results.

Aloe Vera Gel
One of the reasons for eczema is dry skin. Hydrating the skin holds a prominence here. Aloe vera is one such herb which hydrates the skin by soothing it. Regular application aloe vera gel relieves the symptoms of eczema.

Almond Oil
Almond oil is one of the effective home remedies for treating eczema. The oleic and ursolic acid present in almond oil alleviates the symptoms of eczema. It reduces the inflammation and promotes the healing process.

Coconut Oil
We all know the benefits of coconut oil on hair. But, this oil is used to treat several skin disorders. Eczema is one among it. Coconut oil is the popular home remedy for eczema used since ages. The lipids and healthy fats in this oil prevents the itchiness and sooths the skin.

Oat Meal
We all now oat meal aids in weightloss. It also works great on skin. It is advisable for the people affected by eczema to take oatmeal bath for it moisturises the skin, reduces the inflammation and itchiness.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is yet another kitchen ingredient which soothes the skin and reduces the itchiness. Mix equal proportion of water and vinegar. Apply it on the affected area of skin and rinse after sometime. Repeat this procedure twice a week for the desired results.
