Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015: AM:PM
Designer duo Ankur and Priyanka Modi behind AM:PM showcased their collection in Mumbai for the first time at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 ramp.
AM:PM from Ankur and Priyanka Modi showcased a vibrant collection ‘siyāh'. It was a beautiful amalgamation of different cultures. From Islamic architecture (the detailed jaalis and carvings) represented through intricate motifs of ivory inlay handcrafted on tunics, anarkali jackets, layered skirts and dhotis to sheesham - an art found in the remote Hoshiarpur of Punjab.
There is also the inclusion of delicate mukaish embroidery in what is essentially a black and white collection.
Different silhouettes looked gorgeous on the ramp and the collection looks inspired by the Mughal era- the architecture from the Islamic influence of that era dominated the collection. Silk organza, heavy georgettes and satin were seen on the ramp.
Thread embroideries, beaten mukaish work and floral and geometric detailing were used in ‘siyāh'. The collection includes anarkali jackets, layered skirts and nazakat dhotis.
Coming to the colour palette, black, magenta and white were used widely in the collection.
