Exclusive: Celebrity Saree Draper Dolly Jain's Tips On How To Get Ready On Holi And Stand Out In The Crowd
'Dolly Jain' is a name synonymous with all Indian celebrity weddings that have happened in recent years. From Anushka Sharma, Deepika Pudokone, Katrina Kaif to Isha Ambani, Dolly Jain has been entrusted to drape sarees for these divas on all special occasions.

Not only weddings but she has also draped saree for Deepika's Cannes' look and the clutter breaking Met Gala saree outfit for Natasha Poonawalla in 2022. Dolly has created a distinct niche of being the master saree draper by converting her love and passion for the six yards into a rock solid career.
Dolly's Choice Of Outfit For Holi
With over 2 million followers on her social media handle, Dolly also holds the record for being the fastest saree draper and has been credited to drape a saree in 325 different ways. She is doing her bit to make saree wearing a daily wear outfit rather than just being an occasional one.
When asked if she likes to play Holi, Dolly said "Yes, I definitely love playing Holi but with natural colours only". A lot of Indians world over have found sustainable and eco friendly ways to play holi and that's what she loves too. Saying no to chemically coloured 'gulaal' and conserving water by going dry can go a long way in making this festival sustainable.
No prizes for guessing Dolly's choice of outfit for Holi. Being a Drape artist and saree aficionado her 'go to' outfit for playing holi is indeed a 'saree'; preferably when playing with dry natural colours. There are hundreds of fabric options for sarees and more than a hundred ways to drape the six yards. However, for playing Holi in a saree it's best to select a handsfree look. If you follow Dolly on instagram, you can search for more than 300 ways in her reels and use the one that best suits you.
Her reels and posts also talk about the various handlooms of India, that she loves promoting by way of her creative draping styles and tips to keep the drape intact.
Always Choose Natural Colours Over Artificial Ones
While the outfit gets sorted you may wonder what she does to save her hair and skin from harmful effects on holi colours. Dolly told us that using natural colours is the most important tip to ensure blemish free skin post Holi. We're often advised to apply oil on skin and hair to protect it.
However, Dolly feels differently, she believes that if one has coloured hair, which is common amongst most people these days, applying any form of oil, coconut or mustard might actually damage the colouring. Additionally, oil will make the dry colours stick to the hair making it more matted. Once you're done playing, Dolly recommends brushing your hair with a comb to dust out the colours before washing.
As for accessories, it's best to go basic. Dolly recommends not wearing your usual chains, necklaces and rings because these can get damaged or lost. Perhaps just wear simple studs and a couple of bangles for the look. But avoid wearing statement jewellery pieces as those can get damaged or lost.
