One of Bollywood's most successful filmmakers and producers Ektaa Kapoor became the first Indian to win the International Emmy Award under the Directorate category! The talented showbiz personality was given recognition at the 51st International Emmy Awards held in New York on November 20, 2023.
World-renowned Indian-American author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra presented the prestigious award to Ektaa Kapoor for her brilliant work at this year's International Emmy Directorate Award! The supremely talented diva flaunted Indian ethnic style for one of the famous awards events across the globe and beamed with humble pride as she grabbed the Emmys!

Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor shared on Instagram that, "she was keen on wearing a black outfit" to the 51st International Emmy Awards but "finally settled" for the colour orange. The diva donned an ethnic sharara set by designer Nupur Kanoi that comprised silver hand embroidery with mirrorwork, Swarovski crystals, metallic sequins, and stud detailing.
The Indo-western ensemble included an asymmetric kaftan top with long flowy sleeves and sharara pants with detailed embroidery work on the belt. Ektaa Kapoor's fuss-free and easy-to-style outfit made the ideal style inspiration for anyone who prefers fuss-free yet strikingly fashion-forward style for occasional or festive wear.
Ekta complemented the occasional ensemble with statement jewellery that comprised a stone-studded choker neckpiece and flaunted her signature beads bracelets and finger rings. She chose natural makeup and an open straight hairdo to complete her red carpet look!
Grabbing the Emmy trophy, the filmmaker added, "There is no journey without obstacles or challenges. Your resilience should enable you to navigate through them and move forward. It's okay to take a moment to realign and rework your approach. However, from that point on, you have to keep moving forward. Standing still and feeling sorry for yourself will accomplish nothing; the only way from the bottom is up."

She further said, "I think art and writing and storytelling have a far bigger impact than we gave it credit. Now to be honoured by this global platform on a global stage, I just feel a little overwhelmed and humbled. This honour has made me feel a little responsible. I feel this voice that I have been given, I must use it for the benefit of others and to tell stories to people who are not being heard."
Like Ektaa Kapoor, you can opt for an ethnic or Indo-western style sharara outfit to ace your traditional style. The ethnic sharara set is a quintessential ensemble that epitomizes the timeless elegance of traditional South Asian attire. Comprising a gracefully flared sharara, a beautifully adorned kameez, and a complementing dupatta, this ensemble exudes sophistication and cultural richness. Crafted from luxurious fabrics like silk, chiffon, or velvet, and embellished with intricate embroidery, sequins, or zari work, the ethnic sharara set is a visual symphony of vibrant colours and elaborate patterns.
Whether worn at weddings, festivals, or celebratory gatherings, the outfit captures the essence of traditional charm. Paired with statement accessories such as intricate earrings and bangles, the ensemble transcends occasions, seamlessly blending cultural heritage with contemporary style for a look that is both opulent and timeless.
