Cannes 2014: Black Gowns At amfAR Gala
Cannes Film Festival 2014 had a very important event last night, The amfAR Gala is usually a vital part of the film festival. Almost all the celebrities who are there at Cannes 2014 are expected to attend this event. And at Cannes 2014 amfAR Gala, we got see a good celebrity turn out. The theme of Cannes 2014 amfAR Gala was 'Cinema Against AIDS'.
Aishwarya Rai was present and grabbed most of the eyeballs in an Armani Prive gown. However, we have singled out 2 ladies in black who really looked gorgeous for the occasion. We have not liked the black gowns at Cannes 2014 so far. But simply loved what Jessica Chastain and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy wore at the amfAR Gala this year.

Cannes Film Festival 2014 is traditionally not a place to wear sombre colours like black. It is the peak of summer and we expect lots of colour from celebrities. However, we were let down by many celebrities who chose winter colours like beige, grey, ash and black coloured gowns this year. However, so far, nothing has really stood out like these two black gowns at Cannes 2014.
Jessica Chastain was in a custom made Givenchy couture gown. The gown was pitch black and looked like it had a velvet touch in it. The bodice of the gown was structured and the gown was a traditional strapless number. The gown had some pleats and looked stunning on the gorgeous actress. She wore an eloquent diamond necklace that had a leaf pattern that completed her look. Jessica Chastain left her flaming red hair loose and the effect was stunning.
Former French first lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy opted for a Maxime Simoëns gown. This black bustier gown would have been common if not for the delicate pearl accenting on its bodice. This intricate pearl embellishments totally changed the look of the strapless gown for us. The former model completed her look by wearing a large diamond pendant.
Looks like black is the flavour of the season at Cannes Film Festival 2014.
