10 Tried And Tested Home Remedies For Oily Nose
From clogged pores, acne breakouts to blackheads, of all the beauty woes, one that is notorious to reoccur frequently and give us a rough time is an oily nose. And as much as we would like to think it is a natural glow of health and vitality, it is not!
Reality is your nose is churning out oil, aplenty, and has officially become a hot bed for bacterias. And it does not just stop at that; the thick layer of grease is going to give rise to blackheads, nasty pimples and the worst of all acne!
So, let us first understand why our nose gets greasy. The sebaceous gland in your skin produces sebum, a form of lubricant that protects the skin against the sun, humidity and harsh outside elements. Your nasal skin has large and more active glands as compared to the other parts of your face, making it more greasy.
What are the reasons that can make your nose produce more oil?

We did some research and curated in this article are 10 home remedies to keep your nose oil free!

Aloe Vera
Rich anti-bacterial properties present in aloe vera can do two things - keep oil production in check and unclog pores.
Extract the gel of an aloe vera leaf. Keep it in the freezer for an hour. Using a cotton ball, dab the gel on your nose. Leave it on for 5 minutes and once dry, wash it clean!

Yogurt
Lactic acid in yogurt exfoliates dead skin cells and controls oil production.
Whip plain yogurt until you get a thin consistency. Apply a thin coat on the nose. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then scrub and rinse it clean. Do it every night and be amazed with the results.

Apple Peel
Apple peel is a rich source of vitamin C, A and essential fibres, that can lighten the skin, slow down oil production and improve elasticity.
Grind dried apple skin into a fine power. Mix it with a teaspoon of lemon. Apply a thin coat on the oily zone. Wait till it dries. Scrub it gently with your fingers and rinse it clean.

Honey
Antioxidants and vitamin C present in honey clear up the pores, prevent wrinkles and balance out the oil production of the skin.
Mix a teaspoon of organic honey with half a spoon of almond paste. Gently massage the paste onto the affected area. Wait till it dries and then wash it clean.

Orange Peel
The acidic content of orange can slough off the dead skin from deep within, revealing the clear skin layer underneath and over time reduce excess oil production.
Lay out the orange peel under the sun to dry. Once the colour of the orange skin becomes dark and rough in texture, grind it into a fine powder. Mix the powder with a teaspoon of rosewater. Apply the paste on the nose. Wait till it dries before washing it clean. Try this mask every alternate day for best results.

Egg White
Eggs contain two vital ingredients, collagen and proteins, which work to tighten the pores and thus reduce excess oil production.
Apply a thin coat of egg white every day for a week. Wash it off once you feel your skin begins to stretch. Within a week you will have a nose that is clear of blackheads and is non-greasy and smooth.

Sea Salt
Salt is a natural desiccant, a drying agent, that can strip your skin of excess oil. Add 1 tablespoon of sea salt in half a cup of tepid water. Pour the solution in a spray bottle. Every time you feel your nose getting greasy, spritz the solution onto your nasal skin. Blot out the excess.

Green Tea
Packed with antioxidants, green tea can literally work wonders on oily skin. Dab your nose with used green tea bags for a few minutes. It will naturally absorb the excess oil and keep your nose non-greasy and smooth all day long.

Witch Hazel
Witch hazel contains ample amounts of tannins in it. This works as an astringent, tightens the skin and reduces oiliness.
Immerse a cotton ball in distilled witch hazel. Dab it onto your greasy nose. Watch the magic happen.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has anti-bacterial properties that can reduce inflammation, soothe skin and reduce oil production on the skin.
Dilute 1 tablespoon of raw tea tree oil with a cup of distilled water. Pour the solution in a spray bottle. Use when you notice your skin getting greasy!
