Effective Ways To Treat Dry Eyelids
Here are effective and safe ways to treat dry eyelids. Read this article to know more.
Eyelids can generally lead to itching and irritation in a person. However, there are many medical conditions that can lead to dry or dehydrated eyelids.
However, there is no underlying medical condition that will be caused due to this, but the condition of dry eyelids should be treated soon, so that it does not increase the sensitivity of the area.

- It may be caused by the use of wrong eye care products
- Medical condition like eczema
- Allergies
- Shampoo
- Food allergy
- Environmental factors
- Eye allergies
If you are suffering from dry eyelid-related problems, here are some of the easy home remedies to treat the issue.

1. Aloe Vera Gel
Due to anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties found in aloe vera gel, it can help to treat the dry eyelid problem. Regular application of aloe vera gel helps to nourish your eyelids and prevents dehydration. Take some aloe vera leaves, scoop out the gel and nourish the eyelids by dabbing it on. Leave it overnight and wash off with cold water.

2. Olive Oil
Due to natural moisturising properties found in olive oil, it can help to nourish your eyelids and also keep them moisturised for a long period of time. Applying olive oil not only helps to keep your eyelid moisturised, but also helps to boost the eyelash growth as well. Take some olive oil and massage your eyelids for some time. Wash off with cold water after some time.

3. Petroleum Jelly
Petroleum jelly is not only helpful for your skin, but it also helps to treat the dry eyelid condition as well. Take some petroleum jelly and apply it on your lashes with the help of a mascara wand. Applying petroleum jelly helps to lock the moisture in the eyelids and also forms a barrier which prevents over-drying.

4. Ice Water
Ice water is another effective remedy that can help to treat the dry eyelid problem. Use cotton ball soaked in cold water or ice water and then keep it on your lids and relax for some time. Do this for several times in order to keep your eyelids hydrated and moisturised for a long period of time.

5. Vitamin E Oil
Using Vitamin E oil can not only help to hydrate and moisturise your dry eyelids, but it also helps to boost the growth of eyelashes. So, if you want to enjoy long and hydrated eyelids, apply Vitamin E oil on a daily basis. Apply some oil on the lashes and wash off with cold water. Do this every day to treat the condition. You can see improved results after 2-3 months.

6. Rose Water
Rose water is pure water extracted from rose, which helps to keep your eyelids hydrated and moisturised for a longer duration. Apply some rose water on your lashes with the help of a mascara wand and allow it to dry naturally. Another way to apply rose water on your lashes is to soak a cotton pad in rose water and keep it on your eyes. Relax for some time and repeat once again.

7. Castor Oil
Applying castor oil on your eyelashes and eyelids helps to keep your lids hydrated and well moisturised. Heat some castor oil. After it cools down slightly, apply this on your eyelids, as castor oil helps to lock in the moisture, keeping your eyelids hydrated and moisturised. Follow this remedy 2-3 times in a day for 2-3 months to get improved results. Make sure you check the temperature of the hot oil before application on the eyelids.
