Tips To Trim Your Stylish Facial Hair

Facial hair is unique to male members among human beings. From the very pre-historic period the practice of growing facial hair is prevailed among males. Many famous men wore mustaches from the very wise and referred Confucius, Buddha to Jesus Christ. Today, facial hair is a beauty statement rather than a biological phenomena. People prefer to have it in different shape and in different styles. Some men wear mustaches without beards, other men wear a full mustache in addition to a full beard. A trimmed beard or mustaches will highlight your personality. Mustaches or other facial hair can also punch up the overall face shape by adding good balance and definition.
When trimming your facial hair you should concern few things like overall length of the mouth, size of the nose, size and fullness of the upper lip area, overall width of the cheeks, shape and width of the jaws and chin area, density of hair growth, facial hair colour or texture, current mustache fashions and trends etc...
There are two basic parts to trimming a mustache. One is to define and adjust the overall length of your mustache hair. The other one is the shape of the mustache. Some men prefer to use a comb and sharp mustache scissors to trim their mustache. Others prefer the commercial trimmers to do the job. To begin with, prepare your tools and mirror before you start trimming your facial hair. Now cover your clothing with a towel or plastic drape or cap like used in a salon or barber shop. Stand back and look at your mustache in a mirror with a good light source to determine the areas that need to be trimmed or shaped. Comb your mustache so that all the hairs are laying in the same direction.
You can trim it into different styles:
Shaggy
Shaggy from Scooby-Doo started a fabulous facial hair trend that is perfect for laid-back guys who want to rock a hippy style. All you have to do is let your facial hair grow out on your chin in a patch that is about the size of the bottom of your chin. You can keep it short or let it grow long depending on your tastes. The Shaggy chin patch is a really fun and youthful facial hair style to try out.
Goatee
A goatee is a cross between a miniature beard and a mustache. It is essentially a circle of facial hair that wraps over the lip, around the mouth, and across the chin. The goatee is a great style for all ages, and it is a classy, smart, and manly look . Most importantly it is one of the favorites for women!
Horseshoe
Horseshoe is a goatee that extends up the sides of the mouth but does not meet above the lip. In horseshoe style there won't be a mustache generally.
Sideburns
This style is also known colloquially as side-whiskers, or sideboards. In sideburns style patches of facial hair is grown on the sides of a man's face, in front of the ears.
When you are trimming length, keep in mind that just as the hair grows in different directions, you must trim in multiple directions. You will basically have to trim both with and against the grain to catch the hairs that are bent over. If trimming with a comb and a scissors, comb against the grain of the mustache hair, to get it to stand up against the normal grain. Then use the scissors and cut against the base of the comb to achieve a uniform length. Remember to take your time and work carefully. Once you chop hair, you can't glue it back on.
