Navratri 2023 Day 8: The eighth day of Ashtami is celebrated with huge pomp and it is dedicated to Maa Mahagauri. The festival of Shardiya Navratri is all about worshipping and praying to nine different forms of Goddess Shakti or Durga, and this year the 9-day auspicious festival has started on 15 October 2023.

Pandals dedicated to Goddess Durga are made across India, especially in the northern states. People remain engaged in worshiping the Goddess according to their faith and capacity. Mahashtami of Shardiya Navratri will be celebrated on 22 October 2023.

Navratri 2023 Day 8: Maa Gauri Puja Vidhi,

Goddess Mahagauri is worshiped on this day who is a form of Goddess Parvati, and her purpose is to destroy the demons named Shumbh and Nishumbh. Let us know in detail about the method of worshiping Mahagauri, puja mantra, aarti, and bhog on Ashtami.

Mahagauri Puja Vidhi

On the day of Ashtami, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, meditate on the Mother Goddess, and clean the puja room. After this, install the statue or picture of Mata Mahugauri on the red post near the Kalash which was installed on the first day. Apply kumkum and akshat to the mother and light incense and lamp in front of her. Offer white flowers and worship the Goddess properly. Chant the worship mantras of Maa Gauri and read the Aarti. Along with this, also recite Durga Saptashati.

Evening Puja Muhurat - 05:45 PM to 08:55 pm
Sandhi Puja Muhurta will be from 07:35 pm to 08:22 pm

Maa Mahagauri Bhog

On the nine days of Navratri, offerings are made according to the form of the mother. At the time of worshiping Mahagauri, there is a tradition of offering coconut or sweets made from it. Coconut, laddu made from it, kheer or coconut barfi can be offered on the day of Ashtami.
