The festival of Shardiya Navratri is all about worshipping and praying to nine different forms of Goddess Shakti or Durga, and this year the 9-day auspicious festival has started on 15 October 2023.
Pandals dedicated to Goddess Durga are made across India, especially in the northern states. People remain engaged in worshiping the Goddess according to their faith and capacity. Mahashtami of Shardiya Navratri will be celebrated on 22 October 2023.

Goddess Mahagauri is worshiped on this day who is a form of Goddess Parvati, and her purpose is to destroy the demons named Shumbh and Nishumbh. Let us know in detail about the method of worshiping Mahagauri, puja mantra, aarti, and bhog on Ashtami.

After this, install the statue or picture of Mata Mahugauri on the red post near the Kalash which was installed on the first day. Apply kumkum and akshat to the mother and light incense and lamp in front of her. Offer white flowers and worship the Goddess properly. Chant the worship mantras of Maa Gauri and read the Aarti.
