One needs to clean the house thoroughly on this day and wear clean clothes after taking bath etc. Also, one should bathe in any holy river on the day of Sankranti. After that, they need to make sure to offer Arghya to the Sun God on the day of Vrishabha Sankranti.

5. By performing Pitra Tarpan and Shraddha Karma on Sankranti, the souls of the ancestors get peace and their blessings are also received.
