9 Hidden Signs Of Emotional Abuse In Relationship
Emotional abuse is just as bad as physical abuse in a relationship. In some cases, emotional abuse in a relationship might be worse than actually physically hitting someone. The trouble is that the signs of emotional abuse in a relationship are not as apparent as a black eye or a bleeding lip. That is why you might be emotionally abused by your partner for years before you realise it.
Fighting and arguing does not come under emotional abuse in a relationship. A relationship is not alive without a few slamming doors and some painful tears. But all this is fine if it is followed up by a heartfelt patch up. Emotional abuse in a relationship usually does not come to the forefront unless you sit down and analyse your partner's behaviour.
SILLY REASONS FOR FIGHTS IN A RELATIONSHIP
It might take you years to realise that you are in an emotionally abusive relationship or even marriage. If you are unhappy for a long period of time, then it is time to do a status check and see if there is emotional abuse in your relationship. You can start by trying to look for these signs of emotional abuse in your relationship:

Sleepless Nights
If you have not been sleeping well for more than a month, then there is something seriously wrong with your relationship. Weeping is something that comes in every relationship once in a while. But getting permanent dark circles means depression is round the corner for you.

Repeated Cheating
Your partner keeps cheating on you, then comes back and says a tearful sorry. It means that your partner cheats out of habit to hurt you.

Looking For Excuses To Fight
Do you think that your partner is being extremely argumentative these days? Does he or she constantly pick on you and fight about irrelevant issues? Then, it is a sign of emotional abuse.

Hitting Under The Belt
If your partner purposely uses something private that you told him/her in confidence during a fight, then it is unethical. And if your partner keeps doing this again and again, then he/she is being emotionally abusive.

Pinching Your Raw Nerve
We all have weaknesses and secrets. When you are in a relationship, you come to know these unpleasant truths about your partner. But pinching about these truths is something that should not be done.

Bringing Up Your Past Repeatedly
Most people have past relationships unless they are in high school. And these past relationships do not work out for a reason. However, bringing up your past repeatedly is also a kind of emotional abuse that you need not put up with.

Use Of Abusive Words
Many couples tend to utter some harmless bad words during an argument. But if your partner goes out of his/her way to use bad words and foul language, then you are being emotionally abused.

Character Assassination
Even when you have nothing left, you have your character to protect. So your partner has no right to attack your character without any valid reason.

Threats
Threats need not be death threats. But constantly pestering you with demands and threatening to breakup with you if these are not fulfilled is also a kind of emotional abuse.
