Pasta, made by refining grains, forms a main part of Italian cuisine. Recently, pasta has evolved as a universal food. All age groups and all nationalities prefer it. Some quick pasta and tomato-based sauce can form a tasty and filling food for the whole family with minimal effort.
But now comes the question, is pasta bad during pregnancy? There are different types of pasta like white pasta and brown pasta. They are good sources of complex carbohydrates, vitamins A and B and folic acid. Prefer homemade pasta because the one that we buy from stores may not be healthy.
Pregnancy is a vulnerable time for women and much care must be taken on the food that the expectant mother eats. So is pasta bad during pregnancy? The answer to this will depend on which pasta you choose, how much amount you and how often you consume it.
FAST FOODS TO AVOID & EAT WHEN PREGNANT

Processed food
Pregnant women are advised to steer clear of all types of processed food. Store bought pasta is a kind of processed food. Is pasta bad during pregnancy? Not if you eat it healthy and homemade.

Pasta contains Phytates that block the absorption of certain nutrients like zinc and magnesium. It also contains lectins that allow junk food into the blood. So gorging on pasta is definitely not okay during your pregnancy. But if you do get the craving, settle for a small amount of it.

Harmful bacteria growth
Pasta also encourages the growth of harmful bacteria and yeast in our stomach, so regular pasta intake must be avoided. Eat pasta healthy by including veggie side dishes.

High blood pressure
