Are You Pregnant During Christmas?

Pregnant Christmas
To be pregnant during Christmas is both a privilege and a curse depending on the way you handle yourself. On one hand you have your friends and family around you giving you a huge emotional boost. But it is the rule of any festival that your normal schedule will go haywire; pregnancy care however is something that cannot be skipped. You are entitled to have fun and frolic time during Christmas but your prenatal health should still be your priority. The good news is that you need not give up on either

Here are some tips to help you enjoy being pregnant during Christmas without missing out on your essential pregnancy care.

What To Do If You Are Pregnant During Christmas?

  • Shopping: You can obviously do all the shopping you want to because it will make you feel happy. However it is important to remember that you cannot be walking around all day picking up your favourite things.
  • Take breaks every couple of hours. All shopping malls have places to sit down these days. Put your feet up and relax in between shopping. Don't feel embarrassed, you are pregnant and no one will judge you. Take someone along with you to help with the bags.
  • Decorating: Decorating for Christmas is one of its main attractions. If you are pregnant during Christmas then there are certain precautions you have to take. Do not stand on stools or ladders to decorate higher places and never run around in a hassled way to finish decorations.
  • Cooking: There is not too much pregnancy care to be taken while cooking because you can easily do it sitting down. If you are baking a turkey or any other huge meat then take help from your family members to carry it. Make sure you cook it well because you will also be eating it.
  • Drinking: Consumption of alcohol is never advisable in pregnancy and you must avoid it at all costs. You can do all the partying you want but go for alternative soft drinks like smoothies, cold coffee, ice teas, etc. Even virgin cocktails can be had.
  • Travelling: It really depends on the kind of travelling you are going to do and also your general prenatal health. If you have any special condition that makes your pregnancy high risk then it is best not to travel at all. Invite all your friends and family to your place for dinner. If you will just be going to a different part of town then travelling is generally safe but air travel or even train travel should be undertaken after the doctor's advise.
  • Dressing Up: It is perfectly fine to make yourself look pretty for Christmas but don't wear clothes that make you uncomfortable. Very tight dresses or undergarments can make you feel sick. Avoid high heels because your feet will tend to swell anyway; no point causing more pain.
