Martha Aley Clears Rumours on Prashant Tamang’s Death, Says He Died Peacefully in Sleep
Singer and actor Prashant Tamang has died at 43, leaving fans and the music industry shocked. The Indian Idol 3 winner passed away on Sunday. Amid heavy speculation online, Prashant Tamang’s wife, Martha Aley, stated that the death was natural and happened while Prashant Tamang was sleeping at home.
Martha Aley said there were no unusual circumstances around the death and stressed that rumours were hurtful. Martha Aley explained that Prashant Tamang died peacefully in sleep, and Martha Aley was beside Prashant Tamang. Police officials also noted that clarity on the Prashant Tamang death would come only after the postmortem process finishes.

Family response to Prashant Tamang death and public grief
After Prashant Tamang death, Martha Aley spoke to ANI and described the emotional scenes around the family home and hospital. "Thank you to everyone. I've been receiving calls from all over the world. People that I know, people that I don't know, I've been getting flowers. People are standing outside my house, people have come to the hospital to see him for the last time," she said.
Martha Aley said the affection for Prashant Tamang has been overwhelming and almost hard to process. Martha Aley added that tributes have poured in from fans who followed Prashant Tamang’s music and films. Martha Aley said, "It's really overwhelming for me, and please love him as you have loved him earlier. He was a great soul, he was a great human. I hope you remember him like that."

Martha Aley directly addressed claims on social media about the sudden nature of Prashant Tamang death. Martha Aley emphasised that there was nothing suspicious. "It was a natural death. He was in his sleep when he left us. I was right beside him at that time," she said. ADCP South-West Delhi, Abhimanyu Poswal, said it would be difficult to "point out anything suspicious" until the final "postmortem report comes".

"I would love to thank them right now, because I've never been out, but I've always seen people supporting him through messages, through reels, through his songs, through his work, and thank you so much for all the love and support you have always given him, and I would always appreciate more love to him right now he's not with us anymore, but...I would really appreciate that you would just pray for his departed soul, so please do pray for him," she shared.
