The new parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William have named their charming newborn royal baby as Prince George Alexander Louis. The special name which is given to the royal baby is one of a kind and special in its own way. Special being that the name George comes from a Greek word meaning 'earth-worker' or' farmer', Alexander hails from the Greek word defining protector of men and Louis is a tribute to Lord Louis Mountbatten who is Prince Philip's uncle and the last British Viceroy of India before independence in the year 1947. Louis is a French and English word which means a famous warrior.

There was a lot of speculation behind what the new parents were going to name their third heir to the throne. The name of the royal baby was announced at the Kingston Palace at 6.28 pm yesterday evening through a short statement. The royal baby will now be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

With all the hypothesis of the royal newborn name making rounds around the globe, we think that the new parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did a great job in selecting a classic name for their royal baby boy.

Prince George Alexander Louis is Queen Elizabeth's third great-grandchild, and the first grandchild for the Prince of Wales, Charles. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton gave birth to Prince George Alexander Louis on July 22 at the St Mary's Hospital.
