'The Week' scribe wins UNDP award
Bhopal, Feb 21 (UNI) A journalist working for a national news magazine has been selected for the United Nations Development Programme-prevention of Trafficking and HIV/AIDS in women and girls (UNDP-TAHA) and Human Resource Development Network's media award, instituted this year, for reporting on trafficking and HIV.
'The Week' Principal Correspondent (Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh) Deepak Tiwari was chosen for his report 'Where is my daughter?' and would receive the award on March 28 at Delhi, a release said here today.
The report is focussed on girls who went missing from Madhya Pradesh's Mahakaushal and neighbouring Chhattisgarh's tribal-dominated districts.
During the ceremony, a 'Statement of Support' is to be released and would be used as an advocacy poster stating support from the media fraternity against issues of trafficking and HIV. The paper would be signed by media professionals across India.

award
carries
a
cash
component
of
Rs
25,000,
the
release
added.
