Although we said that the story of this fashion trend began at the Oscars 2012, it was not the first time when Angelina Jolie donned a thigh slit dress. In fact, she has always had a fetish for slit gowns. The first time we saw her in a thigh slit gown was in Cannes 2011. She wore a wine coloured gown with wide frills and a huge bow on her thigh just above the slit. Then came the Golden Globes 2012 where she was seen in a white silk dress with a turned up red collar. Most fashion commentators failed to notice that this gown too was slit from the thigh. Finally at Oscars 2012, Angelina Jolie gave people something to talk about by striking that sexy pose in the black thigh high slit gown.
