All roads led to the Bangalore Turf Club this Sunday as the city"s who"s who made their way to the Kingfisher Derby 2011 an event that was marked well in advance by the race enthusiasts & the socialites of Bangalore. The 24th edition of the Kingfisher Derby claims the honour of becoming the richest race in the country by recording a prize money grossing over Rs.2.36 crore mark, making it truly special and prestigious.

The evening saw the 'Starting Draw" roll with enthusiasm in the presence of charming Bollywood diva Soha Ali Khan, as she set the pulses racing while drawing out the names of horses for the race on Sunday. The draw of the lots determines the position & the lane of the horses for the race and was well attended by the owners, trainers & jockeys.

Followed by the starting draw event was the much anticipated Kingfisher Pre-Derby night that was celebrated with elan and took everyone to a dizzying height with the Casino Royale" style party. With the country"s best beer for company and scintillating performances by India"s leading jazz musician Amit Heri & DJ Whosane marked the start of the Kingfisher Derby excitement. The evening swung into a complete party mode at Hotel Taj Westend and brought together the crème de la crème of the city to celebrate a night of power, fashion and speed.
