Cannes 2014: Mallika In White Lehenga

The second day of Cannes Film Festival 2014 was all about putting India on the global map. First the event with the Indian contingent led by Kamal Haasan. The event was attended by Uday Chopra as well who is at Cannes 2014 to promote his film ‘Grace Of Monaco' as a producer. Indian siren Mallika Sherawat is at Cannes 2014 for a very special honour. Mallika Sherawat attended a CII event that was also chaired by Ashok Amritraj and the Indian ambassador to France.

On Day 1 of Cannes Film Festival 2014, we saw Mallika Sherawat in a turquoise gown from Emilio Pucci. The lace gown was full sleeved and had a scooped out neck line that revealed very little cleavage by Mallika Sherawat's standards. In fact, we have never seen Mallika so covered up and that too, on the Cannes red carpet. But looks like the string of surprises is not over for us yet.

On day 2 of Cannes 2014, we saw Mallika Sherawat in a Manish Tripathi lehenga. This is the same lehenga that Mallika promised to wear a couple of days back by posting the rough sketch on Twitter. Mallika had declared a few days back on Twitter that she would be wearing a lehenga from Manish Tripathi's couture. Mallika Sherawat wore this lehenga in style for the CII event this morning at Cannes 2014.

The white lehenga that Mallika Sherawat wore was quite classy. The lehenga has floral lace details that looked elegant. The choli also indulged in surprisingly little skin show. In fact, you would call this head to toe white outfit rather conservative. The choli had a V-neck and a slightly low cut back. Mallika carried the dupatta like a drape around her waist. And let us be honest, she looked rather elegant in this outfit.

With this lehenga from Manish Tripathi, Mallika Sherawat has proved that she can look graceful even with unwarranted skin show. So first Uday Chopra and then Mallika Sherawat have made us proud at the Cannes Film Festival 2014; looks like India cinema has arrived on the global front.
