Indian Celebrities At Oscars

Oscars is around the corner. This weekend we all will be hooked on to our television sets just to check out the celebrities and their outfits. Celebs wear their best outfits on the red carpet of this prestigious award functions. If you think that Oscars is only for Hollywood then you are wrong. There are many other films of different languages and industry that have been honoured for their talent and making.

If we rewind the Oscars of the past few years, Bollywood celebrities like Mallika Sherawat, Anil Kapoor, Irfan Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have already walked the red carpet.

Slumdog Millionaire was the last movie from India that won Oscars. Lets take a look at the celebrities from Bollywood who have attended The Acadamy Awards or Oscars.

Indian Celebrities At Oscars

Bhanu Athaiya: She is India's first Oscars winner. The Indian woman grabbed the Oscar award way back in 1983 for Best Costume Design in the film, Gandhi.

AR Rahman: An excellent music director of several Bollywood films was another Indian celebrity to grab 2 Oscar Awards in 2009, Best Original Score as well as the Best Original Song for Slumdog Millionaire.

Resul Pookutty: The sound engineer from Kerala also grabbed an Oscar Award in 2009 for Best Sound Mixing in Slumdog Millionaire.

Aamir Khan: The perfectionist actor of Bollywood also made a presence at The Acadamy Awards for his Oscar nominated film, Lagaan in 2001. Although he didn't grab any award, this Indian celebrity made it to the Oscars!

Malika Sherawat: The hot bombshell of Bollywood is another Indian celebrity who walked the red carpet of The Acadamy Awards in 2011.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: The gorgeous Indian actress who has also acted in many Hollywood films attended the Oscar Awards in a bronze gown. She was accompanied by her husband, Abhishek Bachchan. The couple was invited in the 2011 Oscar Awards.

Irfan Khan: The talented Bollywood actor also attended Oscars in 2009 for his Oscar-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire.

Freida Pinto: The female lead of Slumdog Millionaire looked ravishing in 2009 at the Oscars red carpet. She was accompanied by her co-stars.

Anil Kapoor: One of the famous Bollywood actors attended The Acadamy Awards in 2009 with his co-stars for the Oscar winning film, Slumdog Millionaire.

These are few Indian celebrities who have made it to the Oscars. This year, we are expecting to see Tabu and Irfan Khan for their Oscar nominated film, Life of Pi.
